Tips

Tips for a welder CV

List your processes and positions

Write each process you are qualified in (MIG, TIG, stick, flux-cored) and the positions you can weld, such as 3G or 6G. Employers often look for these first.

Name your certificates exactly

Copy the certificate name and standard exactly as written on it, for example "EN ISO 9606-1", with the year. Do not shorten or change it.

Say what you weld

Say which materials and work you know: carbon steel, stainless, aluminium, structural steel, pipework or sheet metal.

Add photos of your work

Clear photos of your welds and finished jobs help an employer see your quality. Add them in the work photos section of your CV.

Show your safety tickets

Add tickets such as working at heights, confined space or first aid, with the date and when they run out.
